Bootfitting Options
1. Basic Fit
Inclusions:
Basic liner mold
Please note: Basic fit does not include a fit guarantee.
Suited for: A skier who is looking for a no-frills option and does not have any foot/lower limb issues
Time: 45 minutes
What to expect: Your boot fitter will measure your foot, assess your foot type, ascertain your level of skiing experience and find out what you are looking for in a boot (i.e. comfort or performance). Based on this information, your technician will then present you with two to three of the most appropriate boots for you to try on and will talk you through your options. Once you’ve selected your boot, your technician will perform a heat mould of the liner to help shape it to the contours of your ankle and calf.
Please note that with a Basic boot fit, any boot modifications required either during the initial sitting or at a later date, will be charged on a per item basis.
Our Basic bootfitting service can be performed on a walk-in basis, however if you wish to make an appointment, you are welcome to do so.
2. Custom Fit
We highly recommend our 8 Step Custom Fitting Process option to all our clients. Regardless of your skiing/boarding ability or anatomy, a custom fitted boot will ensure the right fit, comfort and performance.
Custom Fitting Process:
Step 1 – Start by sitting down with your bootfitter, answering some questions about your skiing or snowboarding, having your feet measured, and having a biomechanical assessment.
Step 2 – Try on 2-3 pairs of boots as chosen by your bootfitter, this is generally all that is required to make a selection as we will have a fairly good idea of what will work for your feet after step 2. Fit is the most important thing with ski boots and different brands and models fit differently, which is why it is so important to have a professional assist you with step 2.
Step 3 – Choose a custom liner (optional) to enhance the comfort and performance of your ski or snowboard boot. We stock custom liners from industry leaders Zip Fit® and Intuition®.
Step 4 – Have the mould for your custom footbed made, this custom insole is created uniquely for your foot and is recommended for all skiers and snowboarders.
Step 5 – Have your boot liners custom moulded to fit you, on some models of ski boots we will heat mould the entire shell also, though this is often not an option nor necessary.
Step 6 – We finish your custom footbeds and any other custom modifications on an as needed basis, usually if you had your boots fitted in the afternoon/evening this work is done overnight ready for collection the following morning.
Step 7 – Return to the store once custom work is completed to try on the boots and to ensure everything feels perfect, and then go skiing.
Step 8 – After riding in your boots for a few days, come back and see us if you need any custom adjustments made. This after service is available at any of our three stores and is done free of charge for the first two seasons, or for the first 30 days of skiing, whichever comes first. For more information see our Fit Guarantee.
Time: Allow atleast 2 hours for the appointment, and then potentially more time for any boot modifications to be made if necessary. Please note that during busy times and for certain customers with difficult boot problems, this fitting process can take longer.
Our Custom bootfitting service can be performed on a walk-in basis, however we do experience very busy periods, so to minimise waiting, we recommend booking an appointment.
3. Optional Upgrades
